Deductions by hourly cost

A company option: lateness, early leave and absence are deducted in hours, and each hour is valued from the employee’s own salary — so the deduction matches their pay instead of one amount for everyone.

Two deduction units

  • Points (default): a fixed tariff for each item, and one value per point.
  • Hours: half-hours, with each hour valued at the employee’s hourly cost.
  • Choose it in “Settings → Deductions & points → Deduction unit”. Points remain for evaluation and reports either way.

What is deducted, and how

ItemCalculation
LatenessNothing within the grace period. After it, half-hours from the start of the shift — or from the end of the grace period if you choose — rounded up
Early leaveHalf-hours, rounded up
Leaving the site without permissionHalf-hours for each time
AbsenceThe working day’s hours: the shift, or the required hours on flexible hours
Daily capLateness, early leave and leaving-site deductions never exceed one absent day
OvertimeOne point per full half-hour, or paid overtime if you choose

Example

  • Hourly cost SAR 30, so one point is SAR 15 (two points = one hour).
  • 40 minutes late with a 15-minute grace period: one hour = SAR 30.
  • 20 minutes late: half an hour = SAR 15.
  • One absent 8-hour day: SAR 240.

Who sees the amounts

  • Hourly costs and amounts are visible only to users with payroll permission.
  • Employees see their own point value and its effect on their salary in “My points”, and their payslip shows the points and the hours they equal.

Switching back to points

Changing the unit recalculates the current unapproved month; approved months stay as approved.

Frequently asked questions

Does anything change if I don’t enable hourly deductions?

No. The default stays points with their fixed tariff.

What if I don’t enter an hourly cost?

It is calculated from the monthly salary: salary ÷ 30 ÷ daily hours.

Does it work with flexible hours?

Yes. Falling short of the required hours is deducted like early leave, and absence as the required hours.

Can I switch back to points?

Yes, from the same setting; the current unapproved month is recalculated.
